Carburetor spec discrepancy for GT750M models

Post by mfrias2nd »

Hi everyone, Just thought I'd contribute because I came across this discrepancy with some specs I've pulled up. In tearing down my carbs on my 1975 M model I noticed the needle was on the 4th down position. I pulled the specs and the following pulled up.

Haynes States 3rd position for M model
Suzuki Carb manual (although specifically states L model) states 3rd position
whatever spec is posted below in image states 4th.

Anyone know the true position for the M model?

As you can see this is off the Haynes Manual which shows a Circlip position discrepancy from above. can anyone clarify this?

Carb specs are listed in service bulletins. 71-75 specs are in Specification-6. 76 specs are in Specification-8.
76 specs has a footnote about the jet needle change.

Thanks for another reference Jabcb... does anyone know about the above image where it states 4DN18-4? This is a richer setting. Would this spec be for any upgrade? So far 3 out of 4 state 3rd pos. I'm curious where this 4th pos comes from?
