Great !

If you are shopping for a new one then I've had good luck with the one from Oregon Motorcycle Parts - $45.50 plus shipping

Reviving an OLD post :)

I see you said 45.00? now its $130?

Would the lawnmower regulator/rectifier replacement $20 work on ours?

vdubjim, what bike are you asking about?

Those parts on the Honda link won't work on a GT380/GT550/GT750.
BAS (Bike Acquisition Syndrome) - too many bikes but have room for more

Suzuki:
GT750 2x75
GT550 72 & 75
GT380 72
T500 69 project & 73 project
T350 69 & 71
Honda 85 CB650SC & 86 CB700SC
09 Triumph Bonneville SE

Sorry, GT750.

I saw Oregon or whoever sells the "radio shack" regulator for tripple the price of radio shack.
the CB crowd used them also, but have found the 20$ lawnmower ones work also.

The Honda CB500t has a single-phase alternator that uses a permanent magnet rotor. Similar design to a T500.
The $20 mentioned in the link was for a used part.

The GT380/GT550/GT750 have a three-phase alternator that uses a field coil.
Very different design. Regulator & rectifier also are different.

Oregon Motorcycle Parts sells regulators & rectifiers that are direct replacements for the GT380/GT550/GT750 part.
(The regulator & rectifier are separate parts.)
Voltage regulator VR3-SGT costs $52 http://www.oregonmotorcycleparts.com/vregulators.html
Rectifier R255-SGT costs $47 http://www.oregonmotorcycleparts.com/rectifiers3p.html
