Got it running, and even got it inspected and a plate (after 3 years), and the title transfer is underway.

Still not running very well. It accelerates pretty well but will not drop to an idle--sometimes the revs build like crazy when I pull in the clutch. Well, have to pull the carbs again, I guess.

I had trouble with my foats and it caused the same behavior. It ended up that they had little pin holes that let gas leak in. I soldered them up but now the center one is leaking and the left one sprung another leak. For $14 you can get new ones from reproduction decals. I need to order a set. I'm even thinking of soaking them in epoxy resin to prevent this from happening in the future.

Good luck with yours.

Thanks, Mark.

Well, today marked a milestone--got the carbs back on after balancing the slides and cleaning up the plunger seats, and it ran really well.

Here's a short video to celebrate with!

Yeah, I need to make a video where the camera is stationary. All I got on that clip was fierce wind noise, so I dubbed over it except when we were at the stop light. :)

GT380 chain: 530x104?

And tire recommendations? Owner's manual says front is 3.00 19" and rear is 3.5" 18".

I'm thinking front:
IRC Front GS-11 AW (All-Weather) 3.25H-19 Blackwall Tire
http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/tpl/tire/ ... Id=&mmyId=" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and rear:
IRC Rear GS-11 AW (All Weather) 3.50S-18 Blackwall Tire
http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_c ... atId=40402" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I imported a dozen GS-11 AW's for myself and a few folks up here in Cowtown who also wanted some 'inch' measure tires - 6 front and 6 rear. They do look nice on the rims, and closely match the original look as far as profile and tread pattern. 8)

I was replacing my clutch cable, pulled off the left trans cover, and got a few surprises :wth:

The spring was off and laying in the bottom so long, it left a dark spot.

Looks like this area saw some welding repairs...

And I don't like the way this looks.

Isn't there supposed to be a cover or something holding that shaft in place? Oh well, the clutch is working fine, so I ain't disturbing it for now.
