Is it my imagination ?

Post by oldjapanesebikes »

You know - for a board with supposedly 8000 plus members (and yes - I know probably 90% of those are fake :? ), traffic here seems to be getting less and less. Or am I just imaging it ? 8)

I belong to 5 or 6 boards and other than my ZRX board, the've all slowed down. Personally I'm in the middle of a bathroom gut and remodel and when not doing that I'm riding.

I been wondering the same thing......for months now!! I realize that Summers are busy, but I still get to look at this forum on a regular basis.
Other sites have slowed down a bit also, but this one seems to be "slower than normal Summer" I did notice that weeks ago, when the subject matter went South for the Winter, I lost interest in reading the posts for awhile.

Don't know what gives...No posting on EBAY watch, which used to have 2-3 posts a day. Some subjects have been months since posting! What gives?? Any suggestions out there....oh my gosh...Don't know why I wrote all this.....No one is going to read or post to it!!! Oh, well!!

I've noticed it was slow too but I still check it a few times a day, some of the regulars have slowed down, better things to do I guess. I have been busy with yard work and garden.

Understood - ebbs and flows with the seasons I guess. Just seems quieter than usual to me. I'll just get back to my shop and keep playing with my project bike. 8) 8)

And where did Kelly get to anyway ?

I'm one of the regulars that slowed down. It's because I got a life after escaping my former marraige. Sorry about that, but I'm a lot happier.

Slow is okay, IMO. Useless activity is a waste of bandwidth, IMO.

Let's be honest here gents......
aside from the summer riding season thing, ALL old bike boards will eventually slow to nothing because the people that are interested in any given brand/type of bike are getting older and thus there are fewer of us around to support any given board. As well, there are fewer examples of our GT's (for instance) available for resto or reclamation and this hurts board activity as well.
Having said all that, I've left boards that got (IMO) stupid because of Photoshop "contests", various types of pornography or just out and out stupid postings.....all in an effort to make the board look "active", for whatever reason.
For me, this board is like home. It's a great place to put your feet up, relax and have a few "mental beers" with friends, many of whom I've known for over 10 years. I can "walk in" pretty much any time and it's just like I was never away. What else could you ask for on ANY board ??

I think H2Rick hit it on the head, I agree fully with him. I how ever can only drink the 'mental' beer with everyone as I don't care for the liquid stuff.

My situation matches that of Terry, and Barry. I tend to alot busier with life this time of year than in the winter, so the posts slack off. Plus, having a social life now, as opposed to the last three years of full time single life could also be a factor.:^)

And like Rick, it is nice that it seems like this forum has avoided degenerating into craziness. Others have went that way to the point I figure what is the point of checking in, there is nothing there for me. At least this site always seems to be like home when I check in.
