I know what you mean about the engine braking, my V-Strom 650 is the same way, you will get used to it. The motors are nice and revvy for a v-twin, can't lug it below 3000 much and I think mine is tuned for more torque than yours, it's reportedly down 5 HP on top from a SV but has more midrange. Congrats, nice bike.
This is my SV650n K4 I bought it about 4 years ago from my local suzuki dealer it only had 565miles on the clock. The naked fuel injected ones are pretty rare over here, I only see the half faired sv's I only take it out on sunny dry days. I love the torque and the engine braking! it really is a blast to ride!
Cool Lane! Canadian neighbors of mine in Georgia, family of four, all rode... SV, TL, and an assortment of Beemers... The SV & TL bikes always seemed like they would be a blast... My pref would be the TL but thats only because I have a larger mass than you..

Lane
Well...if you say it pulls like a tractor then it must be more technologically advanced than a Harley...
they're brilliant bike, the gladius has replace it.
they still sell the full fairing version.
guess what? Suzuki has brought the half faired model back in the line up because of the demand here.
I prefer the older style to which Lane has.
overall they are bullet proof, reliable, good mpg and handle like a dream,it even have it own racing club here..
like Lane says the engine braking is verrrrry good.
to me the older and the new model is like comparing the figure of sofie lorenze to kate moss and I know which one I'd prefer

If I wanted to make a life-long career out of
working with the mentally retarded I would
have opened a Harley Davidson Dealership
