Sounds great!

Tom, I am ordering a set of 280 MJ's for immediate delivery to replace the set I borrowed from your kit. I suspect you are packing up for Deals Gap and want to make sure you have everything. I'll drop the kit off tonight and run the jets over as soon as they arrive... let me know if you need anything for your trip.

(I couldnt take the jets out because the bike is in MI for dyno testing and I had to leave them in for the base line to match up with the Time Slips).

DJ, that/'s cool you got to see it. Some folks were having difficulty with the live feed.

I raced against Kathryn Vanstrien who is a top notch racer. Her bike was beautifully prepared. I matched up against her in the 2nd Round Qualifications on Saturday and she ran a 9.1434 at 140.31 MPH. On Sunday, I was paired with her again during Eliminations which is the race you saw. She is very good and a tough competitor.

So Kevin how does the new engine feel compared to the old engine ?
Dave, it hits like a freight train right off the line and pulls from start to finish. The crank inertia help keep the rpm's up when shifting. The biggest issue I have to work out now is the linkage between the handle bars and foot pegs.

I did notice that on my last run in round 3, the bike was creeping forward when I raised rpms to launch. I have Barnett plates in there and they started to grab. It pulled the bike too deep into the staging beams and I was holding it back as the lights dropped. I lost focus, red lit and bogged the engine off the line. I'll have to check all the plates for flatness and might consider going back to OEM fiber plates.

The inserts worked great. I had an issue with over-pressurization of the cooling system that caused multiple leaks. May have been a trapped air pocket that expanded or stuck radiator cap. Once I hit the de-pressure button on the radiator cap, everything was fine and the issue didnt occur again the rest of the weekend. The head inserts worked great with the copper gasket at stock cylinder head torque.

Super Eliminator - AMA

Post by water cooled »

Paul Cavanaugh recently wrote an article for Straightliner Magazine about Super Eliminator. It is one of the best articles written about the 2-stroke drag bike class in several decades.
http://dragbikelive.com/straightliner.html

Click on the link and go to page 26. The first bike is Brian Pretzel aboard the Redline Motorsports Nitrous fed Kawasaki Triple. It has gone 7.77 sec at 170 MPH in the 1/4 mile. Not bad for a 750 2-stroke.

Super Eliminator is growing again now that AMA created a class for all multi-cylinder 2-strokes a few years ago. If anyone is interested in getting involved in AMA to race a 2-stroke, its relatively easy to get started. A lot of information is available on this site:

I have been talking with the guys at "two stroke shop" about an up coming 1100CC 2 stroke in a Kawasaki sportbike chassis. That would make one hell of a drag bike!!

You're not kidding...that would be a 2-stroke beast of magnanimus proportion. I know Barton and Ocelot had some "Big Bore" kits for the GT's back in the day but Brett De Stoops modified GT-750 with 1000cc home made barrel is the biggest I had heard of. I'd love to see the bike TSS is cooking up. :D :D :D

Do you know what the engine platform is?

I've seen this monster on their website. They purposely put it in a ZX10 chassis to harness the power to some degree. Something over 200hp, if memory serves. The motor is loosely based on the Kaw triple, but I believe everything is billet aluminum, engine cases, and all They are the guys who make a bored and stroked version of the RZ 350 Yam engine that lays 120 hp to the rear wheel. Quite entertaining, to say the least. Cheers.

Fred is right on the money. It's a set of Matoon Machine Banshee cases with CPI top end. You could say it's based on an RZ350 but on steroids. Cranks is Superior Crank AFAIK, barrels are 330cc singles IIRC. Trans is updated etc.

This will be expensive if it ever gets built and should make over 200HP if it doesn't tie itself in knots.

How about that motor in a SE class drags bike..

Kevin.
How can you sleep at night?? Beating a girl like that. Tsk tsk tsk. It was most gratifying to see that it took a 160 mph bike to beat you. Keep up the great work, and advancement of the breed(waterbuffalo, that is). Must be a lot of fun being involved. Cheers.
