Jetting Q about chambers & stock airboxes

Here she is with the pipes fitted ... I still haven't got a definitive pipe ID, my belief is they are very early Allspeeds, as later pipes had a fatter, stubbier end-can.

By the look of the hangers, and the silencers, those are probably J&R power pipes of the day. PO most likely welded the cans to the headers to stop them from leaking. They run pretty well with stock jetting, but it wouldn't hurt to upsize the mains a notch, just to be safe. They were completely chrome when new, of coarse. Stock 380's responded better to pipe transplants, than stock buffalo's did. 30 odd pounds less weight didn't hurt either. Hold on a minute, I have to do something.
The minute became 6 hours later, but interesting. Bought new Ikea shelving for my office, put a hand rail on my new back steps I built the other day. And I scored a deal on a 1968 T 500 Cobra. A little rough around the edges, but basically all there, except the mufflers, and the seat rail (calling John).

Fred, yes, I believe they were originally "slip on" pipes that have had the headers welded in by a previous owner.
She's carburating well in the mid-range and up to 2/3 throttle, an unexpected advantage of the pipes is that she now pulls 6th gear so much better than before, so that gear is no longer an 'overdrive'.
