My First Post & My First Buffalo

Post by pikeslayer »

Picked this baby up for $400. This 1976 has about 23,000 on the clock. I don't know a lot about these and I hope you guys can teach me. My plans for now are to clean it up, rebuild the front brake calipers, clean/coat the gas tank, make sure it is running properly. It looks to me as if the seat, bars, front fender, front rotors, and horn are not stock. Also missing a crash bar and chain guard.

What advice can you guys give me to get started?
Where can I get good deals on parts, gaskets? I'll immediately need rebuild kits for the calipers.

Spent 20 minutes trying to post up a picture, oh well.

Hello and welcome to the board, to post a pic here you need a service like photo bucket or similiar and then link the pic to here from that site.
Once we see what you have then we can be better off to give you the required advice you need.
Your Suzuki dealer has the kits for the master cylinder and the calipers plus the hoses if yours are cracked however they will have to be special ordered.
Their prices are actually the cheapest so anywhere else you go will be a bit more money plus the s&h charges.
Two strokes, its just that simple.

Best place to start looking for odd parts is to post in the "Wanted" section on here. It is amazing sometimes what some of us have squirreled away.
Then try the local Suzuki shop, some stuff is no longer available, but a lot can still still be picked up there. It helps if you have a part number before you go to the local shop, Your bike may be older than the person behind the parts counter, so don't expect them to know what you need. You can find the micro-fiche online at places like Alpha Sports, or motorcitypowersports.com.

If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Thanks guys! I'll get setup with a photo hosting site this weekend and post up those pics. I appreciate all your help. A little more about me: Love motor cycles. I love Harleys the most (the bikes, not the company). I have a 2007 Street Glide that I souped up last winter. It now displaces 117". That's 1917 cc's. The last metric bike I had was a '76 CB750. Had a CB350 before that.

Holy PITA!!

Someone has my user name on photobucket. Tried Image shack. Never got a registration email and keeps timing out. Guess I'll try Shutterfly next.
