Please check the charging output across the battery wit ha digital multimeter at around 2000 to 2500 rpms.
What values are you seeing when you perform this test.
Do it with the H.L on and off for comparison of the voltage values.
The T500 will drop the right cylinder first if the voltage drops to certain levels, yet the bike will still run in a sort of fashion.
You might be experiencing problems related to a partially undercharged battery.
Two strokes, its just that simple.

Also try another capacitor on the right. It might be breaking down when it warms up. That is one of their common problems.

Good point there as well, change out the condensors for known good ones or at the very least swap them over for a confirmation of its working condition.

I had the same problem after puting new points and condensers in my bike. It would run good until it warmed up and I would loose a cylinder. Putzed with it for ever untill I swapped the condensers around and the problem changed cyl. Damn new stuff can cause problems too. changed out the suppect condenser and NO more problems.

Problem solved.

A weak charging system was indeed the culprit. I went through he charging system from top to bottom. A yellow wire that went from the stator to the rectifier was faulty. The factory connection had gotten moisture in it and was corroded.
Thanks for the advice. Now I can ride the bike instead of swearing at it.
Now, does anyone have a line on condensers?

condencer

Post by gyrocfi »

You can use any car condencer that is physically the same size( so it fits). OR pay lots more for OEM. I use auto condencers in my RD. Dofin
