Might be time to switch to the Bonneville. Chances are the seat is enough different to give your saddle sores a break

Just curious - other than a rear tire, the exhaust repair and probably lots of chain adjusting, did you have to touch anything else ? I'm assuming you are running an electronic ignition - Boyer or something similar ?

Hi Ian.... I run an O-ring chain and the only adjustment I did on it was when I had the wheel off for a new tire.. That is what I like about those chains.. Once they are adjusted you nearly never need to reset it... I have done 7K miles in 8 days once and never touch the chain... But the exhaust flange cracking, purchasing the wrong tire (front) for the bike is the cause for the change, were the only set backs and they were very minor and neither took over two hours to repair.... H2rick put on a Bridgestone Spitfire (thanks again) and I have over 4K miles on it now and it still looks great.. Only other thing was my rear blinkers stopped flashing, but that was nothing more than pushing the plugs tighter together..
I am running the "new" Newtronics that the company sent for me to test.. I am very pleased with it... Over 27K miles on it and the bike starts quickly and the timing is still right on the money.. I will never go back to points... :D

Allen..... Still wasting CCI

Allan, you're certainly welcome....and I'm glad that the pre-existing tire wore out just in time to be changed in Calgary.
I still shudder when I think of you and Bobbi travelling ANY distance on that grossly overloaded Buffalo with a FRONT tire on the rear. You were VERY fortunate not to have a blowout or other tire related problem because of some goof's very dangerous mistake. You've dodged a big bullet with no expense and/or shed blood and gained some valuable experience......check, check and check again.....whether it's someone else's work......or your own.
'Nuff said by me.
