Great pics, Allen. Glad to see you, your wife and the Buffalo all survived Pike's Peak with no serious trauma of any kind. See you when I get back to Cowtown.

Fabulous journey!! Even the seemingly endless miles of ranchland in Kansas has a beauty that only becomes evident when you're there on a bike. Your buffalo with the Krauser bags looks to be very effective. I am truly jealous, of course, as are we all. I hope that Rick has the forthought to call me when you guys meet up here in cowtown. It would be a pleasure to meet you and your brave wife. Cheers, and enjoy.

Allen.
Thats terrific, and hope all is going well. Keep us posted where and when, and feel free to PM if you have specific needs when you're here. I'm sure you have Ricks info, but the offer stands. Cheers.

Boil over?
Wonderful ride on a classic bike!
You're doing some stuff I would think not easy, like how much power did you loose climbing up Pikes Peak? Is that where it boiled over?
How bad was the load, heat and altitude, that made your bike boil over? Just wondering because some articles claim the 750 radiator is oversized, I guess not.

Bill, the GT750 has 67 horsepower at the bottom of the peak and about 15 hp at the top..
It was pretty gutless and I had to stay mostly in first gear.. I was at the halfway point when I finally pulled over to let the bike cool down. I added only about a cup of water to top it back off.. It did not smoke as bad as I thought it would going up the hill.. Some of it could have been from the load I was carrying... All three bags are loaded, plus a passenger.. So if you were doing this alone without gear you might be fine.. There were other bikes and cars pulled with hoods opened, so it was not just me..
Today we went to the Sturgis rally in South Dakota.. Bobbi (wife) is loading pictures so check them out.. I parked on the road in a line of all Harleys (except me). See if you can pick out what bike does not fit in.
I did not see any other two stroke bikes. I stood in front of a Harley dealer with my riding suit and SUZUKI hat on... Bobbi took a picture with lots of people wondering what I was doing there.. I did feel out of place.. What was funny was while we were gearing back up to leave a crowd came around and started asking lots of questions about the GT.. Some even had one or rode them back in the day..
Tomorrow we start are uphill ride to Canada..

We are in Bozeman Montana tonight.. We left Wyoming in 53 degree rainy weather this morning..
We only had to ride for just over 40 miles before we rode out of it, so not too bad... The day got warmer and the sun came out, so overall it was nice.. We were going to ride to Butte Montana, but as soon as the sun went behind the clouds the temperature felt like it drooped 15 degrees.. My wife said time to find a stopping point... What is still scary is the distance betwwen gas stations some times... The problem is sometimes I fill up and then the next one is 35-40 miles away.. I don't want tostop for gallon of gas... But then the next one may be 70+ miles.. Today I was getting low when I saw a gas sign.. I pulled off the road just to find they are closed on Sunday... Next place I was told was 22 miles.. So I took off gently and kept my speed down and made it.. I wish I had my fuel cell mounted, but Bobbi said no, this way I would not ride 200+ miles between stops.. Anyway, everything is going good and the bike is running perfect... Tomorrow I will cross into Canada and head to Calgary..

Got to meet Allen and his wife yesterday at a mutual friends house in Traverse city Michigan. They were a bit later than planned but made it fine.Great time, great conversation.Allen is one of a kind.I'll post a few good pics tomorrow,it was a long drive home. What am I saying?580 lousy miles to Pittsburgh in a comfy new Chevy Colorado,Allen and Bobbie just did over 6000 on a 35 year old dinosaur.
