Chill out Tom. Things will smooth out soon. Transitions are always a bitch for a while.
Cure for the blues is 3 ice cubes, 2 ounces of burboun (or scotch if you prefer) and 2 ounces of lemon lime soda. Straight Canadian Club over a few cubes works even better.

I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

Dave,
I have been looking at my reed motor project again and it looks like a whole lot easier to to copy Tom's approach (in a modified form).
It would make the welding process two steps rather than one - plates on blocks and flat face on block. I may just have to borrow that idea.
Now where the heck is that cylinder block hiding?

I have been playing with the calipers and some porting software...plus some spec research....
Picked up a third brand new 553M05400 Wiseco piston kit for an outrageous $25 plus shipping... I have three of them now and I think I have less than $150 in all three w/rings, pins, and shipping... The power of not being in a hurry on eBay...
I ordered a couple spec bearings for the crank that are NLA or $$$... I will need to machine the dowel recesses in the outer races when they arrive this week...will do that on a Bridgeport...
Will finally break down and order a TIG this week...to replace the MIG stolen from my GA house...
Have decided to go with smaller 6-pedal reeds (Polaris)... Same reeds as I now have on the H2 Special... A tad narrower and will not overhang the cylinder stud spacing... The larger ones (since I got 3 in the deal) will move over to the "re-birth" of the JB Weld H2 Special sans JB Weld... I'll be using the TIG for both projects...
Other than that, the roller is still sitting in the garage untouched for a couple months....
