A reminder for everyone on this site of my perspective.

Post by jkevinlilly »

I am just real pleased to be here being able to type whatever is on my mind to the world.

Yesterday was my one year anniversary of surviving open heart surgery.

Take my word for it.

Don't sweat the petty stuff.

Enjoy life.

You only get to do it once.

Congrats, Kevin!!!

My wife celebrated one year for the same surgery last December. I know exactly what you ahve gone through and how it changes your perspective on things.

On a lighter note, I retired (actually GOT retired) 8 years ago tomorrow. Never missed the place for a second!!

Well hell, if you're going to get all sentimental...

Well hell, if you're going to get all sentimental...

My daughter Amelia Sue was born on Wednesday night. We waited until the birth to find out if it was a boy or a girl, and I told my wife it didn't matter which it was, I was going to teach them to weld and machine parts.

So thanks for the reminder to not sweat the petty stuff. But for a while at least, I am going to sweat the small (8 pound) stuff.

Congratulations on Ameila Sue, Kevin, you are in for one hell of a ride.

Spend as much time with her as possible, she'll grow up fast. And I'm sure she can learn welding and machining.

I'm doing great Rick. I can't even tell it ever happened, except for everytime I look in a mirror after a shower and see the scar from one end of the sternum to the other, and another one just above the left ankle. And even those have faded to just thin lines. Super glue does a hell of a job putting you back together without leaving much of a scar.
