Damn crashed again!

Oh, man, I hate to hear stories like yours, John. I'm glad to hear that you survived the off more or less intact and that no surgery is required and that you're on the mend.
What lameazz bozo would mess with another guy's bike ??? Hopefully there's a special place reserved in He!! for guys like that !!! Grrrrr.....

The jacket, kevlar jeans and helmet are all pretty much trashed.

Much better than what would have been trashed if you were wearing those cool looking shorts, sandles, and a bandana that I see on bikers occasionally. Take care, heal fast, and I hope the bike has no significant issues.

Doin OK, shoulder is messed up and will be for a while but thats just the way it is. Like I keep sayin, could have been worse.
Got the bike home. A few hours and a couple parts and should be good to go. Glad I still had some paint left. I figure about $50 to fix the bike, $500 for new riding gear, and however much for the ambulance/ ER bill

The bike is back together, repainted with new fairing and also replaced the homemade foot controls with a pair of Vortex rearsets- big difference!
The shoulder is OK... I guess. Still hurts and looks odd. The surgeon says I don't need surgery but may want to in order to save more problems down the road. I hate to sign up for a date with a scalpel but may do it this winter.
The ambulance and ER visit bills came to the tune of around $2200. Hopefully my insurance company is ready to write a check 'cause I'm not!

Hi John just last night Dave and i were talking about you and wondered how you were getting on. He posted the question and now we all know the latest updates on your condition.
Sorry to hear about the recent doctors update on your shoulder and its impending future with an operation.

Glad to hear you're on the mend. I'd get a second opinion on that shoulder and if they say it needs to be done, then don't put it off for too long. The sooner you get into the rehab phase, the sooner you'll get back to normal - whatever that was

How do you like the Vortex pegs versus the ones you had on before. I'm guessing that it's a more compact riding position which should let you use your legs to absorb some of the bumps.

Good luck with the shoulder.

I had shoulder surgery 11 days ago, start therapy tomorrow. They are telling me that I will probably be doing therapy for a couple of months and that it will take 6-9 months for the rehab to be complete, but mine was really bad and I am 62, so things don't heal as fast as they oknce did.

Sitting around with my arm in a sling is a DRAG!

Good luck to both of you John and Wayne. Just listen to the doctors and work real hard at whatever they tell you do for rehab. After I went through the double bypass last summer that's how I did it, and a year later I am doing great. And I'll be 50 next birthday.

John, don't fret the $2,200. After they got through with me my total was around $75,000. Luckily, I had excellent insurance.
