Power Bands???? (How much to torque them to???)

On my way back from the Gap I stopped just north of Knoxville with the KDX and KX85 on the trailer...

Come out from the pottie and picking up a drink and notice a mid-30's guy eyeing the bikes....

Asked about the 85 and told him it was my daughter's - "Geez... She can handle it?"

Yep...

His response - "Does it have the Power Bands in it?"

I think 46 -50 ft.lbs. It's the Power Band torque wrench that's hard to come by

i thought they were adjustable.
ft.lbs in is equal to ft.lbs out.

That's only if your Power Bands are 100% efficient....

Ok... here's the straight dope.

The power bands from a KZ3000 drop right into the T500, but for the GT500's you'll need to remove the defibrillator.
The nice thing about the KZ3000's power bands is that they're made out of triple hardened steel

The ones I saw had the unobtainium rivets with adjustable slots or something like that.....but it's a pain to have adjust BOTH the horsepower and the torque bands AND get them both exactly right.
