I've always been fascinated by folks who could do this sort of work - its far beyond my own skill levels. 
One of the museumshere that focuses on machines offers a series of courses once a year led by their restoration experts right in the shop where all the museum artefacts are brought back to life. I was there in February, and it was one of the most interesting weeks I've spent in some time. While I don't expect to be working on a wood framed bike any time soon (many of the older vehicles they restore are wood framed) the two days on panel beating and metal refinishing may come in useful at some point !
