Hey all,
Does anyone know if there's an electronic ignition for the T500 that's not a Newtronic?
I'd like to fit an electronic ignition on my T500 street bike, but don't want to go thru the "some assembly required" that I've experienced with the Newtronics on my T500 and T20 race bikes.
Cheers to all,
T500 Electronic Ignition

I have this one on the T350 works very well, only issue I have is that it is possible to start the engine in reverse.
I had to do some modifications since I have a GT250 generator with two seperate points plates, it was only to make two holes...

I'd rather run on point than paying that much.
its not as if your running 200 miles then having to reset the points!etc
Ican understand if you are racing but for the road?

I intend to ride my T500 from SF Bay Area to Detroit MI, approx 2400 miles. True if I install new points and set them properly I shouldn't have any problems.johnakay wrote:its not as if your running 200 miles then having to reset the points

Yeah it is a bit expencive, but it's realy nice for longer trips. Last september I did over 6000km in 2.5 weeks while riding around in europe and there was no need for adjustments.
Allthough I'm kind of missing the noticeable performance gain I had after each time I adjusted the points (I was allways doing it a bit late)...
