68 T305 Raider, 68 T500 Cobra, 67 TC250 Scrambler

Post by RJRamso »

Hi,
Here's some pictures of my T305 Raider that I'm doing a light restoration on. I baught the bike on eBay and it was located in Minnesota.
Since I have a Cobra from before, I needed the T305. I think it looks alot like a small Cobra, and when I finally found this, I just had to have it.
The bike was in pretty good shape when I baught it. It needed a new seatcover, so the seat was sent to Trent Paulhus in Canada before I had the bike sendt to Norway. The paint was also faded, so I've had it repainted. I think it'll do a nice daily driver, and looking forward taking it for a ride soon.

Before:

TRhe engine also needed painting. Also should have had new muflers, but that will be some other time.
Image

Parts ready to get some work.
Image

Newly painted parts. Candy Orange is an amazing color!!!
AC100 parts to the left, T305 in the middle and 65 T20 Candy black parts to the left.
Image

Close to done. Only missing the seat. Engine covers also painted, but still those old chromed parts
Image

Here's a couple pics of it with the seat on. Trent did an amazing job! His seatcovers are highly reccomended and they seem to be in very good quality!

It looks very nice, where in Norway are you located?
I think I have an aftermarket clutch cable in grey somewhere if you need it. Not sure if the color is a perfect match to the original though...

I sure hope it runs well too. In a couple of weeks I'm sure I'll find out. Getting nicer weather
I'm located in Rissa, Sør Trøndelag. It's the middle part of Norway, near Trondheim.
What are you wanting for the clutch cable and what color is it?

T500 Cobra

Post by RJRamso »

Here's my Cobra that I restored a year ago. It sure is a little differnt now than when I baught it. Wasn't exactly a headturner before, but I think it turned out pretty nice.
Image

Soon ready to be painted. Some more sanding etc left.

Here's my "cafe racer". Love the Clubman handlebars, and it's not to bad riding it either.

This last winter I've bored the cylinders, added new badges and finally the Cobra front fender! The fender was sure a hard search!!!!
I'll ad some more pics when the snow dissapears.

My TC250 was baught at the same time as the Cobra. I could tell that it needed a full restoration. The kickstarter was stuck the seller said, but the engine turned over. This was not true at all. When I got it to our house in North Dakota I took a closer look at it. It had been used as a house for the mice at where it had been stored. This sure gave me lots of extra work and need for getting newer parts. The pictures might tell for them selves.
After getting the bike to Norway, I've done alot to it. I actually went riding with it a couple a weeks ago. Looks quite different now than when I picked it up. Just a few more hours of work now, and it's all done.
Image

Here it's loaded up, side by side with the Cobra

There is no way the engine had been turning around. It looks awfull, but the engine actually was in great shape. The cylinders had almost no wear, so I just honed them and put in new pistons. The gearbox was like new, just checked all gears and gave it a good cleaning. But the right crank half looked awfull. It was pretty much rusted stuck in the crankcase. But with a complete rebuild of the crankshaft with new oil seals, bearings and rods.
Image

Looks pretty rough:) hehe
Image

Newly painted frame. (Don't look at all the mess around. My Cobra and my dad's T20 is also laying in bits and pieces....)
Image

This is how it was standing thru the summer, before I had the engine redone this winter. At least I had the Cobra done for last summer. The red K10 to the right also came to norway with my Cobra, TC250, my dads T20 and my brother in laws TC250. My pickup was real full with all those bikes in the back when it was sendt to Norway:)
Image

Pictures of the final resault will come soon.

No kidding, those carbs were TOAST!!! My H1 had a squirrel's winter rations in the airbox, but nothing like what those mice did. Good luck, that's a big job.

Here's some more pictures of the Scrambler. Turned out pretty good. The engine now works great! A really fun bike to ride. Seems like it's quicker than the Cobra, but I guess the T20 and TC250 was known to be fast. Looking forward til a nice summer and lot's of riding.

It has probably been 3-4 years since The Cobra has been driven, so it sure was about time it got started again. There's a few things that needs to be fixed. New tires, new spokes in back, it doesn't charge and the front RH shock is leaking oil. Anyone can tell me how to measure and find out why it's not charging?

Here's a couple pics from the other night. Wonderfull weather now in Norway! :)
