Looking for a recommendation on modern ignition plugs for a 74 GT750.
Hopefully this will not turn into anything like asking an opinion on oil :^)

I got some NGK EVX platinums cheap online for my 380 and they work great, they just don't wear or ever seem to need the gap resetting.
Also I'm running stock points with total loss (charging circuit not working) and it doesn't miss a beat.

Yep, plugs with precious metal electrodes take faaarrrrr less voltage to fire properly than standard iron plugs. The older NGK V series plugs had gold/
palladium electrodes and worked great.....in fact they were TOO good so NGK discontinued them.
They then offered the VX series with gold/platinum electrodes and you can still get these but they are slowly phasing them out in favour of the new (and incredibly expensive) EIX series. I have not used the VX series so can't comment on their suitability in strokers.
Precious metal plugs apparently have a somewhat broader heat range than iron plugs, too, although the manufacturers seldom mention this fact in their literature. Their physical design also makes them less prone to fouling than iron plugs....another bonus when using them in strokers.
My .02 worth...
