So if I get this right there are only 2 of them being the ones I take out right underneath the crankcase. that give me a a drop or two of fuel.
In that case it may be just the carbs that give too much fuel and foul the plugs.
At about 4000 to 5000 rpm the bike seems to pull just fine. Running it on the street for a 100miles will be a problem since it is not registred or insured at this time.

The other guys will correct me if I'm wrong. But on your '74, there shouldn't be any drains for fuel on the crankcase. If you see 12mm bolt heads centered under each cylinder on the crankcase, those are crank chamber drains. If your bike has them, there'll be three. The other drains on the crankcase are as shown in this picture. I'd hope you'd get a lot more than a few drops out of those, though it would be tranny oil. The bolt marked as trans drain in the photo has the shift drum stopper on it.Speed3 wrote:So if I get this right there are only 2 of them being the ones I take out right underneath the crankcase. that give me a a drop or two of fuel.

OK I do have the right plugs, I the ones in the front are right in front of the first bottom motor mount see photo, the one behind the mount I was talking about is the one you call sludge plug> Somehow that is the one I was worried about. The Dutch service manual just tells me 3 drainplugs, no specifics. I guess I need not worry at this piont about the rear sludge drain. I had the bike hanging from the fork lift with the front down, I actually get clean transmission oil out of that plug. By now I figure the front plugs probably give me mostly condensated fuel that burns of with a hot engine.

I also figured out that the right cylinder fires only sporadically. I'll look into that on Sunday.
Thank you for your help sofar.
