I asked Marcel too about his ignition, seems too me a good device especially because the hall effect pickups, that I used on some model aircraft engines. On those model ignition it was possible to modify the timing, there was an adjustable ring whit the sensor on the engine and a fixed magnet on the propeller. Looking at the Marcel ignition, I dont see any chance to separately time each cylinder, then you have to relys on a perfect 120° crankshaft. Maybe a little fiddling on the main ignition plate could allows a minimum of different timing. Any Idea?

Yes, I'd say they look pretty good colour-wise, nice fine ring of white ash round the very tip of the centre electrode.

Maybe the best measure of a motorcycle is grins per gallon.

I also changed the bars again, I discovered that I aged a bit since the last time I used clubman bars

These wide low raise bars are a lot more comfortable.

thanks guys, I will need to do a bit more fiddleing on it. On the way home from the concours the battery failed, it is new'ish but has had a hard short life. The alt was overcharging it to boiling point and i thought i had cured the prob by adding a regulator from a T500. At this time i am unsure if that is again playing up or the battery has just given up, I'll know more in a day or so.

Yeah, they look great, but...
You've had to enrichen all of the carbs fuel circuits quite a bit to get these results, though you don't mention the fuel levels. You shouldn't have had to do that. Have you tried spraying carb cleaner around the intake rubbers to check for air leaks? I have a hunch you either have air leaks at all three carb intakes or your fuel levels are too low.

My compliments, nice (and unusual) bike, never seen one of these from alive... seem to me, since I was a kid and, why not?, actually, a "Starship".
