smokie, recheck your fuel level (as opposed to your float height).
if the fuel level is correct it should be just below gasket level and shouldn't
leak when sitting static. can anyone back this up?
warming your chicken strips is another matter
hey i just moved to this area..
its probably just the 2 stroke noise.
mine scares people at stop lights.. no worries..
you;ll get used to it. a full face helmet helps !
Don't have it on the road yet. I just ordered all that I need to get her safe for the road again--tires, wheels, petcock, fork seals, chain, and a few other things.
I should have her fixed up and registered next month.
So far she idles and revs well, or at least as well as I can tell--I've never owned a 2-stroke before.
Even on the side stand? I read somewhere theres a better method of checking fuel level.I turned the carb upside down but tilted so the float tang isnt compressing the needle spring, then used a slide rule to measure from the bowl gasket surface to the top of the float.
The clutch cover is sitting off the bike, as we speak, waiting for a new set of gaskets to come in. I have the right side of the engine covered in plastic to keep junk off the gears.
I pulled the plates out and separated them. Yup, they were stuck together, and took some prying to ease apart. Measured them with a caliper, and they're still in spec.
Maybe when I put the new chain on and adjust the clutch it'll actually move under its own power!

I purchased the tampered steering bearing kit from All Balls for my 380.
My question is it says in the instrutions to cut down the steering shaft below the treaded area? It states that this is so the top bearing can seat properly?
Do I need to take it to a machine shop for this? Or is it something I can do?
Man, I haven't got a clue! If the bearings are correct, no modification should be required. I put tapered rollers in my GT750, and didn't have to change anything. The bearings are a little taller than the originals, but no mods were required.
