So, Where do you find a 33 tooth sprocket?
I've decided to get new sprockets of the standard size for the T500. The PO put a 36 tooth on the rear. I've already found a rather expensive front sprocket. However, there doesn't appear to be a 530x33 tooth anywhere in the whole of New Zealand. Any suggestions of where I can go searching?
Thanks Mike

www.robinsonsfoundry.co.uk
has them but they are a painful £36.96 each. Part number 64511-15001. Every US parts seller I check shows them as discontinued. Perhaps your dealer can search by the part number and find you one?
On the other hand, if you are going to spend some serious money on a sprocket you could convert to a 520 chain set-up. Jughead posted the crossover models that use a 520 front sprocket that will work on a T500 here:

I've bought NOS 520 front sprockets off of ebay for $10 in 13, 14, and 15 tooth versions for $10 per sprocket.
Sprocket specialists as listed by Tim will charge you about $53-59 per rear sprocket for 520 sprockets to fit a T500. I'm not sure if they will ship to you but if not, I would be happy to "freight forward" the sprocket to you.
Chain-wise, you don't really need an "O" ring or "X" ring chain on a T500. RK makes a nice 520 motocross chain that has 9,000 lbs tensile strength and is plenty strong for a T500. The current model chain is GB520MXZ4 although the earlier Z2 and Z3 versions are just as strong and can still be had new at a discount. I bought two Z3's not long ago on Ebay for $55 per chain.
Hope this helps!

carb problem
We ended up getting both carbs rebuilt by a mechanic friend. We decided to go that route because of course being a 69, we figured that would be best. Also replaced all the fuel lines and plugs for good measure. As for riding it, I did just fine. A little wobbly on take off but that soon fixed itself. Now to talk my husband into going to the Blessing of the Bikes in Baldwin,MI. Him on his 80 Suzuki GS 550 and me on my T 500!

The GT750 "candy lavender" AKA Psychedelic Pink
is not the same as on the T500K, which is "wine red" AKA Freaky Purple, heheh. The T500R is different as well, more reddish. I have both the 72 GT in candy lavender and the 73 T500 in the purplish magenta...they are quite close but not the same. I'd say the T500 color is quite a bit "fruity" than the GT's shade. Check out my T500 now for sale on Ebay:

Hey Smoker,
Thanks for the positive with the colour. I have to say it looks pretty sharp in the daylight...but I am still really conflicted: Like that Purple but wanted the Candy Lavender. I haven't done anything about the colour yet, so who knows what that means
Could well have been my beast in the VJMCNZ newsletter - how did you get a copy? (I haven't seen the newsletter yet but mine was the only H1A there.) A group of us rode up for the rally on our classic jap bikes - and stole most of the awards
We made quite an entrance with our posse of 69 H1, 70 H1, 71 H1A and 74 H2B. Lots of smoke and lots of noise
