I use one of those. They work excellent.
I lucked out last week, just 2 streets down from me, there is a house/property with a big shop on it. The place is empty, the owner passed away 4 years ago. There has been this rumor of an old car in the shop, but, you couldn't see into the shop.
Well, last week, the owner's brother came up from California, and I got a look at, and immediately bought the old car. It is a complete and accurate restoration of an old roadster. It is perfect, including a 1917 made golf bag and clubs in a holder on the right running board. the car is up on stands, and I put fuel into it, and a battery, changed the engine oil, and it fired right up on the second hand crank pull. Amazing. When the car was stored, the carb was drained, all the openings were sealed off, and the thing was stored right.
The car is a 1917 Empire 2 door roadster, with rumble seat.
I mention this because the person told me his brother was the one that restored the car, and was a gasket manufacturer in the San Francisco area for many years. I was given a bunch of press dies for making gaskets, and the electric punch they go into. I am also now the caretaker of the property for the man in California, and he is also giving me two more of the brother's old cars that are almost finished being restored, that are sitting in California.
What a score, three old cars and a full gasket stamping machine. Bonus deal!
Luck like that mostly happens to others, not to me.

I was going to start a motorcycle and auto museum where I live, but...as in all city government, there are "planning commission" and other "officials" that are so stupid, they kill great ideas for the sake of not offending bigger idiots that are supervisors and commissioners. So....the bikes and cars sit in their warehouse, closed off from the public, because of some few ignorant, arrogant and just plain criminally stupid "public servants", and the dozen or so jobs I would have created for local people never will be.
The local market here has two rest rooms, mens has one of each, commode, urinal, the ladies has two commodes, one sink each. The City commissioners changed the law for my application, demanding the mens have 5 commodes, five of the other, ladies, 10 commodes, both 5 sinks. No other public building in this town or county has more of each, not even the county and city government buildings.
VERY forward thinking here. Always on top of it.

Just think of it... You'd have the biggest and best place in town!No other public building in this town or county has more of each, not even the county and city government buildings.

Man they oughta love ya for that. Who knows you might even put your town on the map. Just think of it ... all those feeble little minds working together and just waiting for you to show them how it's done. There'd be no excuses for them not to promote your place at that point! Shoot, I'd come visit your museum.

Long time from Team Kawasaki, I never worked for Team Green, that was a later incarnation of Kawasaki racing.
Not rich at all, mostly just getting by, as the rest of us are, but I was fortunate enough to buy bunches of stuff I always wanted, and never had the funds to buy new. I just couldn't ever come to sell the stuff, and by reason of time owned, they became worth more. I still haven't sold a bike or car in over 15 years.

t500 J paint Match
Hi, I'm brand new to this board.
I'm looking for a color match for the verdoro green on the t500 j. does
anyone have a color that matches?
I would also be interested in buying, renting, borrowing, or trading
for a nice body part in the green color to get matched.
Thanks,
Kevin

I just saw this thread, guys. Thank you, Tom, for the great instructions.
I wonder if you could use the zinc anode from a hot water heater. They can be purchased at most plumbing supply stores.
I'll have to look into this and see if maybe the Home Despots have them too.
If so, the price will be pretty cheap, I'm sure.
Hmmm....did some checking and found out that water heater anodes are either aluminum or magnesium. No help there.....but I seem to remember that salt water boats use zinc anodes for corrosion protection. I'll have to check with a boat place......but Cowtown is a long way from salt-water so this may present a problem.
