Great news, what an easy way to get a race bike...buy your old one!!! What kind of front end are you going to put on it?
I am going to use a single disc GT750 front end and triple clamps. I have a special brake disc to use as well. The front end on it is a KZ650, 36mm tubes with dual disc and braided steel lines. It will be for sale to anyone interested. It is a bolt on item.
What are specs for bike? I gots to know what my competition has in store for me!
FAST!!!! I am probably going to do a little more tweaking on it before Mid_Ohio.

AHRMA Formula 250 Rules and the GT250
Quick question folks:
AHRMA rulebook, Section 10.3.3 says:
Two-stroke twins up to 250cc, two-stroke singles to 360cc, Honda CB350 twins and Honda CB350F fours. All motorcycles must be fully GP kitted. The cutoff date is December 31, 1972. Like-design models also are permitted. Among the eligible motorcycles are:
Suzuki 250 X6, GTX, GT, T250, T200
Since I am pretty sure Suzuki never made a "GTX" do I correctly assume that this means my '75 Suzuki GT250 is an eligible motorcycle by these rules?
Thanks

I think the rules can be blurred enough to qualify your GT250 for F-250. Looks like the GT250 was first produced in 1971, so you should be okay. If your bike is anything like my T500, the bike is made up with a '75 frame, a '70 motor, and parts from who knows what years.
Keep in mind the that your entry will probably be protested only if you win the class regularly, otherwise I'm sure the race organizers will be more than pleased to have another bike on the grid.

This is pretty much what I thought the answer was, but I sent an email off to the rules committee just to be sure. This would be for next year's season anyway, so no hurry, but I sure don't want to go down the road of converting my cafe racer to a real racer and then get stopped before I ever hit the track.
Thanks

Cafe Racer Ride
Hey Ralph-
It'd be fun to do a ride through the back roads. I personally do not ride Skyline, 84, etc on the weekends. I had a friend get killed up there when a tourist came around the corner in his lane. Weekdays would be fine, but that's a bit tough with work. Even better, I'd like to make it to one of your races and watch, learn, play amateur wrench holder, etc.

Great, We look forward to you being there to help. As many T500s that will be racing, there will always be someone needed. Look forward to seeing you there.james wrote:I'll be there ,anybody need a hand?H2RTuner wrote:GREAT opportunity for those racers not racing, to become tuners/helpers for others who are, no matter which coast they come from.
