gear indicator switch leak
Man, right now I'm just about up for anything. How can a drain plug leak get oil up into the little sump thats just below the switch? When I pull the side cover off, there's always a little puddle collected there, and the switch itself has trans oil on it.

Thats whats wierd. The thing won't leak unless it's ridden. It sat since Saturday until today with no leak, but I rode it to work (about 7 miles), and it had a drop hanging from the weep hole under the switch, and three or four drops on the ground. When I left home it was dry.

GT750 tapered steering head bearings
Gudday,
Anyone know what tapered bearings to get to replace the ball bearings in the GT750 steering head? I have a very helpfull and well priced bearing shop nearby but I just wondered if anyone knew what ones to get or what sizes?
Regards

If they are anything like the kawasaki's you will need to order the kit. Standard tapered bearings don't fit.fatboycrash wrote:Gudday,

I don't know what it would take to replace the bearings on a stock bike, but I used Pro-Flo.com to get the bearings for putting the GSXR triples on the Mighty Buffalo.

Yeah. I've replaced that seal three times. The first one got squished because the bearing had apparently walked out slightly and the switch squashed it when I tightened it up. Come to think of it, that's probably what cracked the original switch. I tapped the bearing back slightly, and the seal slipped right in with almost no resistance. Is the opening on the back of the seal supposed to fit over the end of the bearing to give it some tension?

Electrical Question
I pulled my headlamp of the 750K in order to remove and reinstall the handlebar switches and putting everything back together I noticed that coming out of the Ignition lock cylinder there are two wires that are not connected to anything. One of them is red and one is orange they are single wires with a single male connector on one and a single female connector on the other. I tried to look at the wiring diagram and it shows a red wire going to a fuse and then splitting off and going to the rectifier and starter switch. The orange wire I cannot tell on the diagram where it goes. My problem is there is nothing leftover in the headlamp housing to plug these into. I hope I am not missing any wiring, If someone knows let me know.
Thank you
John
