Please can anyone recommend an electronic ignition for my GT 250 A. I have had a look on line but can't see any.
Cheers

Re: Electronic ignition
Neutronics has kits for the Suzuki twins. See this to figure out which one to use:
http://autocar-electrical.co.uk/images/ ... 0Twins.pdf
http://autocar-electrical.co.uk/images/ ... ook_V8.pdf
http://autocar-electrical.co.uk/product ... /suzuki-mc
The 1976 GT250A is not explicitly listed in the application list. Some sleuthing will be required to figure out if, and how, to get one of the kits to work.
To start, figure out which version of GT250A alternator/ ignition you have.
See Service Bulletin GT-30: http://www.ozebook.com/compendium/techb ... 027-33.pdf
And compare part numbers for your GT250A and the earlier GT250s.

Re: Electronic ignition
Powerdynamo has a rather pricey kit that replaces the alternator & ignition system.

Well, I have points on all my triples and they work just fine.....
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Re: Electronic ignition
i use the system below, which i adapted from a fiat 500 twin system. photo shows it on my 1965 t10 engine. also use it on all my gt250 engines. simple and cheap, i've been using this about 10 years now and only once has it ever let me down - and that was my fault
cheers, dd.

Dollydog, you are obviously a clever chap. Any chance of some more detail on the fiat system, it looks very interesting

Re: Electronic ignition
Does'nt use the same system as a 1976/77 GT500? If it does there should still be the schematic, parts list to build a CDI box for less than $50.00. If it can't be found here, just PM me and I can send you the info.
