Hi looking to replace the ignition side crank seal , that has failed . Trying to do this with engine in place .
I’ve removed ignition , circlip etc . What is best way to remove old seal and install the new one ?
Cheers

Re: Suzuki Gt500 crank seal
Personally, I'd send the crank to Grampian or Chris Applebee and let them check it fully. If one seal has gone, you caan bet the others are 'tired' at least.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

I agree with Alan, if that ones bad, more than likely the others have issues also.

Re: Suzuki Gt500 crank seal
Hi thanks for advice , but bike runs and engine is quiet etc .
Just the ignition side crank seal is leaking oil , so want to replace in situ.

Re: Suzuki Gt500 crank seal
I heard of screwing sheet metal screws into flat part of seal to give a pulling point, but you may need to use a pick or hook or something to remove the metal ring being careful not to scratch shaft surface.
When you install new seal you need to lube the inner and outer ring to avoid damaging.
