I'm just stripping a rear wheel I bought to rebuilld with an alloy rim ( I did the front already - Thanks again Ade for the hub!).. The spoke are 4mm and I 'm planning to treat them to some home plating and new nipples but my m4 x0.7 die doesn't take they look fine thread. Would they be 0.5mm pitch?
Cheers all
Rear wheel spoke thread..

Re: Rear wheel spoke thread..
Spoke threads are rolled, not cut remember.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Re: Rear wheel spoke thread..
Yes, of course. But if you cut the threads, you remove metal so the spokes are weaker. Rolled threads don't affect spoke strength.
You do as you wish, but don't ask anyone you really like to ride it after. Or yourself either, of course.

More info here.
https://www.central-wheel.co.uk/informa ... stock.html
http://www.buchananspokes.com/nipples/

Easier (and cheaper) to use someone like Wyldes or Central Wheel co, who will make sure you get correctly bent, rolled ant length spokes for the wheel you have. Or just send them your hub and it'll come back spoked and trued.
