GT380 Fuel Tap

Post by grumpy56 »

Was wondering what the difference is between the fuel petcocks used on the 72-73 GT380 (P/N 44300-33050) and that used on later year models (P/N 33400-33150). Specifically need to know whether I can use the newer one on a 72 tank with 72 carbs. Thanks.

Early ones have 3 outlet feeds one to each seperate carb. Later ones have a single feed to gang carbs. So answer is no

My gray 75 GT750 has 72/73 VM carbs. I've had early & late petcocks on it. Currently has the late petcock with its single fuel outlet.

Look closely at the pic. (Don't have a good pic of the fuel line layout.)
Used two fuel line Ts. A large OD fuel line gos from the petcock to the first T, and from T to T. Small OD fuel line goes from a T to a carb.
The fuel line from the petcock to the first T carries fuel for all three carbs, so it needs to have a bigger OD. Similarly for the fuel line between Ts.
