When I were a lad, most of us had .22 air pistols rather than rifles (pistols were easier to carry and hide), like the Webley Tempest. Many a happy hour spent shooting drinks cans off fences

Maybe the 59 people who read your title just like like yourself, had also never herd of it. Because i hadn't.
And that is the reason i would say no one has replied.

Had a chance to shoot an old Webly Mark 1 recently. Fun.
My dad had a 22 air rifle - want to say it was a BSA. Beautiful and new and it packed a punch. Used it to shoot the heads off daffodils back when I could see straight.

No idea what Daisy red rider is.....did have a .22 Webley though. Bolted a massive site on it. Once zeroed, could shoot the nose off an ant inside 50 yards. Bought it around 1978....cost about £70 then...it was the most expensive air rifle in the catalogue. Bloody good powerful rifle. Sadly some cock stole it from my lock up.

I had Daisey BB guns as a youngster/ preteen and eventually got a Crossman pump air rifle. That Crossman was lethal and so much more powerful than the cock and shoot Daisey. Graduated there to a .22 rifle. John- there’s a guy on the ZRXOA Forum that is a subject matter expert in all things air rifle- forget his user name though.....
