when i get my yoke and triple clamps I will give it a few smacks to see what happens....wish my neighbor had a welder.......

..its a small job to grind that back and weld on a new piece

I see Harbor freight do some basic 'mig' welders ( no-gas flux wire) for about 200 USD

That would make me nervous. I took the GT550 frame to a bike shop & had them weld the stop on. Was a cheap repair.

If I did that, it would snap off, get jammed under the other half, make the steering inoperable, and cause a bad crash.
BAS (Bike Acquisition Syndrome) - too many bikes but have room for more

gring the old half off, make a new one out of some scrap steel [or a scrap frame], and get it welded on. grind the excess weld off and send her off to powdercoating. don't, under any circumstances trust jb weld on a job like that, false economy and possibly, as has been noted, dangerous :cry:

GT250 big bang road registered. Both pistons fire the same time. USD forks.
GT285 road registered. Overbored - 58mm and TS125 +2 pistons fitted.
GT10 road registered. '65 T10 engine, GT250 frame.

You guys are making sense and making me nervous!!! Going to get it welded once I can get out of the house post Corona virus.

get a 1lb hammer and give it a few sharp taps..

Put a yoke in and gave it a few hard taps.....piece flew off...so much for the JB Weld solution!!!!
