Hi does anyone know of an upgrade kit that will work on a yr 2000 Colleda k50s - its basically an AP 50 engine - will just fitting a 100cc barrel and piston work ? Or would a complete engine transplant be easier - I know very little about these bikes as I think they were built for the Asian market only
Mal.

Re: Suzuki A50 engine upgrade
I'll be interested to see the replies on this.
I have the AS50 (Sporty version of the AP50), and I've often thought of dropping a 90cc engine in there, -cases look identical).

Re: Suzuki A50 engine upgrade
The A100 engine might well fit, or indeed an early VanVan (not the later 4T interloper of course) - however these are quite rare in UK. In Asia though the A100 was produced for quite some time longer and so spares/parts are readily available on t'internet..
Perhaps you could also transplant an A100 top end, but that might only be of limited use unless you can upgrade the carb. The carb size though might be restricted by the diameter of the 'spigot' that feeds the crankcase via the disc valve. It was this that prevented me from trying a GP100 carb on my A100 IIRC
In the long run you might be better off trying to find a complete A100 engine and carb if not a complete bike.

Re: Suzuki A50 engine upgrade
I've got an early RV125 but the engine looks too big to go in the Colleda frame - think its going to have to be an A100 jobby

Ha, I'm in South WestWales at the moment but when I get home I can measure stuff on my A100 if needed.
