new clutch plates: EBC vs. CruzinImage

Looking for new clutch plates for the GT250 cafe. Suzuki plates are NLA. EBC & CruzinImage are available.
Any thoughts on the CruzinImage plates?

Can't offer any opinion on the CruzinImage plates but I did use a set of EBC plates in my 380 when I encountered clutch slip.

Turned out that the slip was because the clutch centre nut was loose (it had backed off a couple of turns, as the PO hadn't tightened it enough, and compounded the problem by not peening over the locktab enough ).

However I put in the EBCs and new springs while I had the cover off. They fitted perfectly, and I never had another hint of a problem or slip afterwards, even after I put chambers on the bike.

Never used Cruzin Image plates either. Have always gotten good service from EBC.

I have a set of EBC plates on the way. I've had clutch slippage whenever accelerating hard since I got the machine running - I was thinking oil but, we'll see. So I'll report back how it goes.

FWIW, about 100 canuck bucks for the set from fortnine.

Use EBC. Much better proven history. EBC make good quality friction parts at sensible prices. I swear by their brake pads. I also fitted an EBC clutch to my GT380. Have yet to use it in anger though.

I have enough Gt250/T350/T250 and spares I just use used stock parts. If bike was say under 10k miles, no water damage, they are usually very good (per spec). Maybe find 2nd hand clutch on ebay. If not, my vote is on EBC

The old springs may fatigue, but thing you can still get them.

Well, EBC quotes the CK3316 set for the 1975 T500.
However, of course, they don't fit my clutch.

CK3314 will fit my bike. 18 tab vs 12. Fortnine returns, here we go.

New EBC clutch plates and frictions installed. With a little adjustment, finally stopped slipping.

I then installed the ck06 clutch springs. Super hard pull, it was already pretty hard, and currently refusing to completely disengage. Impossible to hit neutral while the engine is running.

so, i may go back to the original springs. They measured out at the correct height, but thought I'd see what heavier duty springs were like.

We went with EBC plates & springs on the GT250 cafe build & ended up with a super hard clutch pull.
Checked the EBC plates & they were the correct thickness. Switched to NOS Suzuki T350 springs & the clutch pull is now reasonable.

Per the online parts manuals, early T500s used 18 tabs & later T500s used 12 tabs. But Suzuki might have not actually done that. Also, some PO might have swapped out the clutch for some reason.

So it looks like we have a consensus that the CSK6 springs don’t work. CSK158 & CSK159 might be correct, but we don’t know.
