Got the bike off the table and in the sun for the first time
Just about ready to fire up after getting radiator and all the hoses on.
Need to finish up the carbs yet.

Carbs and fuel line routing finished, first time smoking....

If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Wicked...
Randy, just out of idle curiosity, what sort of power did your RGV250s make at the rear wheel?

RGV HP.....
The dyno I have been going to runs low.
The owner had explained that he had ran a bike on his dyno, then to a dyno north of Chicago on the same day with exact same bike and set up.
The bike ran a full 10% higher consistently on the Dyno on the north side.
This has been proven numerous times he said.
SO....
My VJ23 ran around 61 at the rear wheel.....bone stock except my Sugaya pipes and Zeel ignition.
My RS250 rand about 64 with Jolly Motos, SP heads, and open airbox...a few other changes...
So to find middle ground....go another 5%
VJ23 64 average
RS250 67 average

Re: V4 stroker.....RZV500R new lease on life
I have about 200km on it at the moment.....slowly putting time on the engine.
Everything seems to be working better than expected so far....
Only issue I have had was while I went down a few rough roads to shake things down a bit, and see how the suspension responded....
.....My powervalves quit working....while open. I thought I had blown the motor as it was louder, spitting out more oil, and had no bottom end power at all.
I limped it home, and figured out the issue, unplugged and plugged wires back up and all fine again.
leaving bodywork off so I see if there are leaks, or things coming loose....easier to get at everything this way.

Cool. Glad you are having fun with it. Hope the power-valve problem stays fixed. I wonder what caused the problem. Loose connection somewhere?

Re: V4 stroker.....RZV500R new lease on life
Nothing but rain and cold for the past week.
Not much fun riding, but I have all the bodywork fixed up and ready to go on.
Still need to get plates for it to make it legal, but at least I have a real title for it.
Power valves are working at the moment, guessing it was the plug just not connecting right.

Good strong numbers on the 250s.
And nice upgrades on the 500. BTW is that a KPH speedo? We realize that it had an error and there is no way that you would ride in excess of the posted speed limit

Actually there are no posted speed limits on that road....tz375 wrote:Good strong numbers on the 250s.

Bike seem firm; did uou change the fork springs, what oil grade do you use, what mono on the back?
Pipes look peaky, again what make? I would have liked to see the bike picking up from the first stop sign, on the vid. but it's edited.
Thanks
P.S. super(b) bike anyway and sorry being late, from a relative point in space...
