T500M Baffles

Post by rider »

Hi,
Can someone please tell me if these are the correct baffles for my T500M.
They are not a tight fit and rattle under load.
Thanks.[imgImage][/img][Image]

Can anyone just confirm the 38mm OD at the end of the baffle?

I cannot, but you should be able to fix that fit with a few turns of metalised sticky tape, perhaps aluminium tape, which you can buy on ebay. You may need to increase the OD of each of the widened sections so it is just snug in the baffle plates inside as well as at the exhaust tip. Then they will do their job and not be noisy!

My T500 baffles do not have the neck down for fiber wrap, they are same diameter the full length. The GT750 baffles do have the neck down. The T500 baffles are obsolete but the GT750 baffles are still available, so if you check part numbers the GT750 number supersedes the T500 number,so the GT750 baffles are the replacement for the T500.
I installed T500 baffles in a GT750, but the tail end is slightly bigger on the T500 baffle.

original = 14510-15004 Ouch$ ->
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Suzuki ... CP&vxp=mtr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The was also a 14510-15003 (shorter?) ->
http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/s ... 15003.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

karl pa is correct... Suz has superceeded the baffles a few times. and think he is saying not a prefect replacement?

Here is original parts manuals
http://www.oldjapanesebikes.com/mraxl_G ... /index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And Suz Parts today ->
http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/S ... parts.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you really want it might be cheaper to search ebay used for example->
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Suzuki-T50 ... 1n&vxp=mtr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Ask them if they would pull baffle (show you first) and ship just that to reduce shipping cost?

Or do what was said to already to make it fit better like adding a wrap around the end.

good luck

Yes it is not a perfect replacement, the 750 baffles in a 500 will fit a little loose, and 500 baffles in a 750, (well) it involves a hammer.
