Re: Craigslist find
When I see a collection like this I wonder if the original owner maybe wasn't that great at fixing his/her own bikes and didn't trust garages
Call me Mr Cynical but how many do you reckon are runners?

Gotta give him credit, he's an orderly chap, the way he's lined everything up.

Re: Craigslist find
150 grand. Yet another vintage bike used part seller on crack. If there's a 100 bikes there. 99 of them likely need crank seals and maybe 25 % of other parts are worth something. Maybe the 2 RG's are worth 10 grand combined. 75 - 100 grand would be asking a lot.

Re: Craigslist find
What people ask, and what people sell for, are never the same.
If it were me, I'd do exactly the same thing. Keeps most of the whacko CL "buyers" away.
If a serious buyer contacts me, I'm sure I will recognize them right away, and then the dance begins.

Re: Craigslist find
I agree with Conner. One would have to assess the lot by putting eyes on them. A person could buy them and have happy restoring the rest of their life OR.... One could buy them and spend their life just trying to get their money back.
I always think about my time and labor too. So.... A good bike that you've invested a grand into the purchase might have another 2 grand in resto costs. Selling it for $5K means it would take a long time to get your initial investment back; 5 to 10 years at my pace.
