GT750 - Which W/Pump Mech Seal?

Post by Drewski »

I see there's someone on The Big Bad Bay in the UK selling what appears to be the same mechanical seal for various bikes but I don't see the GT750 listed.
which one would you guys recommend? ie; where's the best place to get one?

Thanks, Drew.

eBay commonly listed one:-

He does Kettles (and other Suzi triples for a living and knows what he's on with.
Just email him and ask if you can't see what you need.

Just bought a mechanical seal from Hong Kong for pennies....just to examine, measure etc. Not expecting much, and I'll have probably got another one fitted by the time it arrives - just curious, I've not come across these seals before. Interesting that some Jap bike manufacturers made washing machines before bikes, (these mech seals are used in washing machines primarily), I can just imagine when they built their first water cooled bike...sending some bloke down to the Washing Machine Factory to see what they use in their pumps :D

No, Baz is 'bluesmokebaz' and runs the Kettle Clinic forum ( http://www.kettleclinic.co.uk/kcforum/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ), which is actually for all early Suzukis - including 4 strokes (but we tend not to encourage them too much!)

The cheapo seal arrived from Hong Kong today and it's way too big, well 1mm too big but it may as well be 6 inches :( Worth a try at £2 though
