You mean the original bore or the re-bore? Don't boring machines centralise themselves and stick with just enlargening the previous bore?
Is it possible to have them bored off centre? If I had noticed before having it rebored that it was skewiff, I could have gone that way. Never seen liners that far off centre before...part of the production method no doubt. Some worker must have had a bit too much saki the previous night

I suppose it could have been worse.
It could have been mine........
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Man...trying to find a decent cyclinder block isn't easy online
Sellers don't seem to show any photos of the bores and/or don't know the sizes

I've only got the head and block with me here at home, the gasket's in the garage 100 miles away. I'll have to wait until the weekend to check it out.
I've got my eyes on a motor, just waiting to see if It's viable to get it sent over from Japan, but I'll check out the FB page...thanks for the link

Wasn't it Suzuki that got them out of position* in the first place? All the borers I've seen work from the centre of the cylinder they are re-boring? I can't see how they can bore ...what would be..off centre of the original bore
When you turn up with any cylinder set up, they don't ask if you would like the rebore 2 thou to the left or right do they? They just work with what they have....and the bore ends up a larger diameter but the centre is always the same.
* In relation to the block. It seems to me that it's the block that's out of shape....not the sleeves.

I would have thought the problem is when the cast block is drilled for the studs and it's the stud holes that have been drilled slightly skewiff.

Check out this vid, how could this tool bore off-center and still end up with a perfectly round bore?
