Front and rear sprockets for GT 550
My 1975 GT 550 has a 36 tooth rear sprocket. My workshop manual doasn't mention 36 teeth in it's list of sprockets. What is the correct number teeth for the front and rear sprockets?

Re: Front and rear sprockets for GT 550
Thanks both of you.
That's what my manual says, so I suppose 16:40 is standard, but I guess vary for different markets. I don't suppose your local dealer would have given you 16:38 if you lived in the Rockies, or 15:46 if you lived in Holland! But where has my 36 tooth sprocket come from?

I think its just personal preference. Different teeth provide quicker acceleration and top end power. Depends what you use the bike for.
