starting t500
Hey guys , new to the forum . I've been working on a 72 t500 . I had it running and tuned fairly well good throttle response and smooth idle. I've made some nessary repairs . rebuilt cards repaired a float, intake boots, new points . Now I keep flooding and haven't been able to get it running. I've been around two strokes when I was younger mostly snowmobiles most of which had a certain sequence to get em started. Just wondering if I'm doing it wrong. What's everyone's bike tremperment?

Mine starts on two kicks when cold. One when warmed up.
It should never be flooding. Two things to check:
-- Are the slides in correctly? Cutout goes toward the air box. You wouldn't be the first person (nor the last) to swap left and right.
-- Float needle and seat are not worn? Along with this, vacuum petcock is working correctly, and carb floats don't have hole(s)?

I had to repair one float. The needles are new as I rebuilt the carbs as for the petcock I had opened it up and replaced the o ring in there. Seems to work right . It will drip fuel in the on position. if I pull a vacuum on it it flows.

Repaired floats can be a little heavy. Float lower in the bowl, causing a higher level of fuel in the bowl.
Replaced the float needle and seat (as a set)? Or are you talking jet needle (attached to the slide).
Too many needles, jets, and combos. I always try to be specific, to avoid confusion.

Both jet needle and float needle and seat are new. As for the float I removed any excess solder . Also I checked the float needles take sure they were stopping fuel they're working correctly. Might just replace the floats and petcock if I can find one
