First restoration: GT550. Advice welcome

That has something to do with the production jig. Suzuki actually sells plugs for those holes. I just put 2 new ones on mine. $1.23 each at Partzilla. Part# 09250-09001. You will have to look at the fiche on Alpha Sports. 76' GT550 frame fiche. It's part # 14. They show them as NA, but Partzilla has them. Shame on me! Don't look at the dust

The ones that go through the frame and hold the top engine mounting plate by its welded nuts on the inside?

You're right Alan. For some reason I read holes - not bolts. Apparently Cliff you've never had the motor out. Those 2 bolts hold the rear motor mount in place. It's a removable part as you can't remove the motor with it there. So when pulling the motor out, that plate has to be removed. That's why it's bolted on and not welded on.
