Partzilla problem
Anyone else having this problem? Go to Partzilla.com and search Suzuki GT550 there are no fiches under the categories. I also searched 72 T500. Again no fiches. This has been going on for quite some time so I called them up to see if they were aware of it. They acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. So they had me search a different way. The guy sounded very surprised when I told him the page was blank. The part numbers and prices are there, just no diagrams. They said they would look into it. --- We'll see.
In the mean time, get the part numbers from AlphaSports - then go to Partzilla to buy. They have the best prices on the internet IMO.

Re: Partzilla problem
I've discussed this with them perhaps 4 or 5 times now - they make reassuring noises, but do nothing......................Coyote wrote:Anyone else having this problem? Go to Partzilla.com and search Suzuki GT550 there are no fiches under the categories. .

Re: Partzilla problem
No problems for me have tried android tablet / home pc (firefox & IE) / Work laptop (chrome). Could be your PC as I find for Robinsons Foundry it's OK on my PC/Laptop but not on the Android tablet as they use Adobe Flash player to show the fiche but it not compatible with the version on the tablet.
If you click on the link below do you get the indicator diagram?

What do you see where the picture should be?

Re: Partzilla problem
It is patchy - I am still unable to pull up Partzilla fiche images for Suzuki GT550 and GT750 motorcycles, and some GT380 (1973 missing, but 1974 is there for example). I haven't bothered doing an exhaustive check - there are other sites with fiches where it works fine.akendall1966 wrote:No problems for me have tried android tablet / home pc (firefox & IE) / Work laptop (chrome). Re: Partzilla problem
akendall, what exactly are you searching? Lot's of the fiches are there, but it seams like the ones I need are not. For example 1976 GT550. Do you see those? Yesterday. I searched 72 T500 to see if I could help another member. That fiche was missing also.
I bought a ton of stuff from Partzilla while re-doing my 76 GT550. The diagrams were always there, now they are not. I'm on the same PC I have used all along. I don't have any other gadgets.
I do have another PC. I'll give that a try and post results.

Re: Partzilla problem
OK. I went to my other PC and got on Partzilla. Did the search again for the 76 GT550. The fiches are not there. Everything in the right pane is there, but on the left all I see are the + and- zoom buttons. Nothing else. That is the very first time I ever went to Partzilla on that PC. I can't imagine how much business they have lost because of this.

Probably not much at - otherwise they would have fixed it I'm sure.Coyote wrote: I can't imagine how much business they have lost because of this.

Sorry - I see now page is defaulting to 'notfound.jpg' so something wrong their end looking up the fiche image.

Re: Partzilla problem
The website for a dealer near me has bikes going back to 1968.
Take a look at your local Suzuki dealer's website.
The local dealer charges more than the big online discounters but the parts show up noticeably quicker.
Some of my orders go to the online discounters & some to the local shop.
If some parts are holding up a project or you need them to get back on the road, then the tradeoff of speed vs. $$$ may be worth it.
Getting some small parts at the local dealer also gives you an excuse to check out the new bikes & an opportunity to build a relationship with the parts guys.

Re: Partzilla problem
I HAD a really good relationship with my local dealer. There was never any charge for special order, and when the parts came in, they cut me a 10% discount. Then the dealership sold. All the good guys at the parts counter are gone. Now there is no discount and a 15% special order fee. Only one order since the dealership changed hands. Haven't been back in 4 years or so.

Might be worth checking out their website.Coyote wrote:I HAD a really good relationship with my local dealer. Some dealers charge less if you order parts via their website than if you place the order with their parts guys.

Re: Partzilla problem
Roger,
Please do the hand over the carb intake stub first before resigning yourself to a crank rebuild! if its sucking and evenly, its probably not your seals! I cannot recall if you've ever had the seals done on that bike. If they are decades old, OK, I see why you are thinking seals!
Cheers,
Mike

Re: Partzilla problem
With the cost and time involved with a tear down maybe putting together a leak down tester would be cost effective .GT750Battleship wrote:Hi,definately building a relationship with your local Suzuki Dealer helps a lot,I ring with a part number & if available from Suzuki Australia I get it the next day, always told if there is a supersession of part numbers etc & the discounting is very good,I'm about to spend more money with them,as I think my crank seals are shot...timing spot on,carbs clean, electrical system all o.k.all the spark plugs are getting wet, starts idles o.k.but does not run well over 2,000rpm,left hand pipe not as hot as the other 2 ? Any ideas, before I pull the motor out ?
