led Clock lights pics

Post by Repeater »

My little bulbs blew a while ago so i bought some red Leds.

Still looking for a headlight solution that keeps the look and a glass head light. click link for pic. is there a source for a headlight that an led bulb could go in and fit in the stock housing? Or one I could cut a hole in? I'd rather not try to cut the original.

I bought these, but in a four pack for like 8 bucks. Ii also used one for the B brights light.

First pic doesn't show. Says I need to sign in.
Did you have any trouble with the base of these bulbs? I used some much different LED's on my gauges. The locking pins were too short. Had to do some bending of the socket and twist tie some thin wire around the socket so the bulbs would stay put.
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

I thought link was public but not so much. The lights fit the socket like the stock bulb no bending.

Above is the pic Ii meant to post on the first post.

testing a public pic post.

On another note these are bright i might have gone for the one LED model next time. They work great but it'snot like you need an over powering light.

I googled image hosting http://postimage.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; maybe it will work for a while. Why has this board ran out of space? Donations?

I tested the pic from my phone so it looks like it works!

So headlight solutions? the candle on the front of this thing is rather hard to keep lighting with the wind and all at 100mph.

These are the LED's I used for my 'marker' lights. Meaning neutral, high beam and turn. They look yellow when off, but the color is cool white.A row of 4 around and 1 on top. I couldn't tell you if there is one LED in these or five. The ones in the speedo and tach look just like these except there are 2 rows of 4 and one on top Again I don't know if there are two LED's in those or nine. They are so tall, they almost didn't fit, and they are EXTREMELY bright, especially with the white gauge faces I am using.
Anyway, the point here is notice how short the socket locking pins are. This made the perfect lights a real PITA. The worse part of these locking pins is not only that they are too short, but they are also radiused. That made them just pop right out. So I had to tweak the socket slots and wrap / twist thin wire around them so the wouldn't splay open. The larger ones weren't as bad, but could have been better.

Each of the white squares with the yellow circle is an idividual LED, with the yellow circle being the emitting surface, so you will have 5 LEDs in that lamp. The light produced is very directional so to illuminate like a regular fillament bulb you need multiple emmiting surfaces pointing in different directions. If you could find one with just the end LED that would be sufficient for a marker light.

The volt drop accross each LED will be about 2v so they are probbaly will be wired in series internally 2vx5 means about 10v to drive the LEDs, so there is propbably a resistor tucked in there too the stop them blowing when seeing the 14~15v output of the charging system. Personaly I would upgrade to a modern rectifier/regulator before going LED on an old bike as you might find they don't last as long as you'd expect they would in a less controlled system.

Used to be in the industry :)
