WTB Alternator stator charge coil GT500
My alternator stator has damaged / incorrect charge coils, does anyone have any in good condition?
They are the 2 lower coils on the stator plate.
Bear in mind it's the GT500 which is different to the T500.
(I'd consider a complete stator).

Did you check with Suzuki in Australia?
Here in the US they are still available from Suzuki, but they are a bit pricey.

Yes, I know, you're probably right, but I'm jus' shaking in my boots imagining Suzuki's price!

Aren't you thinking that a nice simple Motoplat self generating system would be a nice upgrade? Why yes I do have one available - how did you guess?
And the crazy thing is that I just brought it back from Aus to the US because I had no further need of it there.
Good luck on the lighting coil. There's a guy in QLD that rewinds coils. Norm Randall I think.

Thx for the tips teaser, but I bet the Motoplat costs an arm and a leg! (?)
We have 'Small coil rewinds' down here in Geelong Victoria who still do this sort of rewinding work BUT... The plot actually thickens, ain't as simple as that!
The PO had fitted a coil off a different model, it's smaller, and the way it's been mounted would result in too large an airspace clearance.
So I actually need a new (or good) coil.

Dead right mate, well, about 45 minutes away in Greendale (near Ballan, Bacchus Marsh).
I used to spend a lot of time flying RC slope-soarers with the lads down in Geelong.

Well oiled beef hooked. It's a small world. You don't rebuild TZ cranks by any chance do you or is that someone else up your way?

That's interesting, no it's not me, and I don't know anyone around here who rebuilds cranks.
If you track 'em down, let me know (I'll do the same).
That's a pretty suss oirish accent mate

Far Kinhill. I got that earlier one form an Aussie work mate when I moved there a few decades ago.
There is a guy up your way somewhere that does TZ cranks and rebuilt one for my son and I cannot remember his name. He was in Bacchus marsh or Ballarat. Try over on NATS and see if anyone has ideas. I used to have Karel Morlang do my CB72 cranks but is long gone to that great racetrack in the sky. Or Graham Bird who took his own life back in the nineties.
What about Karel Zegers - Is he still up your way running a mower shop? Maybe try the bike place in west Geelong near the old quarry. They may know someone.
