Jemco Swarbrick chambers?

Whats the story behind the asymmetrical shape of these chambers? I first thought they were a mistake, but all the pictures I've seen are the same.

I have no idea, but thinking about it, Dave Sawrbrick sells his chambers partially assembled and my guess is that an owner put the together like that for whatever reason and those pipes were then replicated by Jemco

For what its worth - my 1992 ZX-11 came from the factory that way and from what I've seen they all did.

My chambers on my race bike are the same.

I'm not sure why, might have to do with having one side higher so axle can be removed? Doesn't really make sense because it on the wrong side.

It's really getting to my ocd side, I think I'm going to let it slide as I need to modify the pre-chamber section to fit inside the fairing as it is.

I would sleep better at night if they were symmetric, but at that point I might as well make them from scratch.

That would drive me nuts too. I wonder if anyone hs a good picture of Swarbricks assembled by Dave Swarbrick to see if they are different.

Strange.....looks dreadful. I can think of no logical reason for that.

I wonder if they could be for flat track racing? More ground clearance on the left side - but then why not raise the right too... or bring both pipes out on the right - just a wag

Just my 2 cents worth but I'm looking to get chambers for my T500 and if they came like that they'd go right back. I may have to reconsider Jemco.

Ya, I was pretty bummed when I got them up on the bike. They look beautiful but the fitment is horrible, the down pipes coming out of the head are cockeyed and bang into each other. They honestly don't even come close to fitting well. I'm at the point of paying someone to totally rework the front and rear section. Hey look at my $1000 exhaust!!

It's very difficult to tell from the pics,It looks like there is a angle cut on the last cone on the left side,
But looks like the same cone on the right side has straight cut.
Would i be right in saying this,Or is there a angle cut and the cone turned outward,
In which case the end of the pipe would sit lower and away from the frame, creating a bigger gap between The muffler and swingarm.

Just to be clear here, we are talking about Jemco replicas of a set of Swarbrick pipes - not original Swarbrick pipes from Dave Swarbrick in the UK http://www.swarbrick-racing.co.uk/early.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and not the normal JEMCo pipes, right?

Yes you are correct. The last cones are cut slightly different, and the pipe to the silencers are bent different. Not a hard fix, but I wanted to keep the nice looking raw finish.
