Dave,
What are you doing about mufflers and internal stingers? I just started to cut the integral mufflers off a set of pipes and need to find replacements - hoping you have some great ideas I can borrow.

And to think that I was going to settle for 3" aluminum tube. At those prices, I think I need to follow your example and do a Ti skin for not much of a price difference.
What are you doing for end caps? Can you turn some up on a lathe or do you have a source that I need to know about?

Re: Here i go again ..
When i was in Florida and had a metal lathe in the garage the plan was to turn up a set of end caps now that will have to be outsourced . I have been looking for engine freeze plugs that might fit the tubes also . I picked up the 1" perforated SS tube for the core off ebay . The Ti tube is so light

But it's about as much per INCH as 3" aluminum is per FOOT
Does look good though.

Re: Here i go again ..
Although the new snow mobile throttle cable fit up to the carb end , the junction block was in the wrong place to fit around the frame so i switched to the stock GT cables as i also needed the choke setup . Next hurtle is to shorten the handle bar ends of the cables as they are about 8" too long being designed for the much taller GT750 frame / handle bars .

Re: Here i go again ..
That worked out well , i combined the stock GSXR cables with the stock GT750 cables . I cut the metal cable of the GT750 throttle and choke cables that goes to the handle bars from inside the junctions and then cut the carb ends off the GSXR throttle and choke cables . Adjusted the length of the GSXR cables to fit up to the GT junctions and attached a new end on the cable inside the junctions using this method http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-gY27LTU2c" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . So now i have a custom cable set that attaches to the triple carbs and attaches as designed to the GSXR throttle and choke lever
.

Re: Here i go again ..
I needed new wires and caps for the coil set that were very nicely donated to the cause by Richard ( TZ375 ) so to start was to carve off the top layer of the coil covering the HT leads and this made it possible to remove the old cable pieces . I found out after doing this from list member SmokyAllan that its possible to just remove the epoxy right where the HT lead enters the coil and carefully pry out the old lead . Anyways .. too late to try that method on this set but a good FYI

Re: Here i go again ..
Tried several places in the engine bay for a good place to mount the coil set and this is where they ended up , i still need to epoxy the new HT leads into the coils but this spot looks perfect to me
. I will be putting a relay in between the harness and the coil wiring to pull volts straight from the battery

That location looks good Dave, is that upper frame space now going to be empty.
Two strokes, its just that simple.

Yeah .. it used to hold that huge air box so now with the foam filters that space is wide open .

Re: Here i go again ..
sounds like there will be some progress soon then.
I've just got around to sorting my new garage and am now back on the bikes - the GT750 cylinder head has just gone away to have its outer plugs centralized.........
