Rubber boot to mount carburetors t500?

Post by MikGsxr »

Hi, I have a cracked rubber boot which mounts the carb to the engine, does anyone know where I can buy one? I can't seem to find any new ones even on ebay. maybe I am using the wrong search words? I have a 74 t500L with a vmc32 carb. I would love to find a cheaper version than the original as well, is there a newer bike that has the same size?

thanks all!

Firstly. these are still available from Suzuki in most countries. The Cruzinimage units are generally just fine, and are much less expensive - I've used them a couple of times now with no issues, although some folks say they have had problems with them splitting. Haven't seen that myself, but take the view that they are cheap enough that I can just replace them. 8)

A word to the wise. External cracks don't really mean much. It's the inside you are concerned with. The OEM boots have a reinforcement material halfway between the OD and ID. They rarely crack all the way thru. As a test I once had a boot with a pretty good split on the outside. I put it in a vice and folded it flat. The inside never did split.
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.
