For me it's my dial calipers that I seem to use a couple of times a day. If I had a dollar for every minute I spent looking for them I could retire. WAIT I am retired. I could finish my bike!

One of my plain blade screwdrivers, I have a half dozen. Which one, you ask? the pesky one I cannot find, every time! pilot jets? oops, can I offer you a wide one? or, levering something out? here's an electrical 'driver. Wretched things!

I invested in a large magnifying glass with light. Most used tool in the arsenal.

I can NEVER find my good pair of needle nose pliers. Not until after I've finished
looking for them and have already used one of my less-worthy pairs.

I also have this great tool that my 10 year old daughter bought me for Christmas,
really thoughtful of her. I was complaining about my regular old Allen wrench set
and how I wanted a ratcheting one. Well she remembered it, went and wrote it down
and got her grandfather to help her buy it for me. It's a Craftsman Evolv 29pc
Ratcheting T-Handle Set. Frankly the best gift I've ever gotten and It would be super
useful if I can just remember where I set it down last...

Years ago I bought these 2 sets made by Bondhus. The yellow set is SAE and the red set is metric. So the right one is always there IF you keep them organized. The jackets help with that. The really nifty thing is they have a ball end on the long side. This allows you to use these at up to a 30* angle to the work! How neat is that?!!

Seems that tools are usually easy to find, save for maybe the correct drill bit.
What I can't seem to find is "time" for wrenching in the garage anymore!

That's a shame. If it's the missus, tell her it is necessary therapy. Every male needs a man cave -- except the drag queens, Sure seems to be an over abundance of that on TV these days. Makes me RUN to the workshop!

Holy Crap, Coyote! Ain't that a fact! When I was a kid TV Mom and Pop didn't even sleep in the same bed!

It's a combination of things, especially during the summer. There just seems to be more chores to do during the warmer months. Everything from keeping the lawn mowed to keeping the pool clean for the grand kids. Not the missus at all, she supports my misadventures! =) As a matter of fact she'll ride along when I'm hunting parts just to make sure that someone calls the cops if the seller is a deranged psychopath! Seriously, we drove several hours to find some parts a while back and when we got there she wanted me to park the truck so she could see everything. So, I crawl out of the truck, close the door and instantly hear the "click" of the door lock! She locked the door behind me so the so called psychopath seller couldn't get to her before she called the cops!

There's some level of comfort knowing your missus locks you out of the truck to make sure that there is someone to alert the cops if you happen across a deranged psycopath!
