Re: Super cheap GT550 pistons on ebay any experience?
The guy that bored and honed my cylinders had my oem Suzuki pistons in hand. When I went to pick them up, the pistons were marked L, C and R. He then told me that there were slight differences in the piston sizes, so he match bored and honed each .002 clearance. He said .0018 was acceptable but .002 would require less break in time. Make sure whoever does the job has your pistons.
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: Super cheap GT550 pistons on ebay any experience?
Thanks - Yes I just dropped them off and we basically went through exactly that discussion. The pistons are now marked and have been left for them to custom fit to the re-bored barrels. I'm going for the 1.8 thou, hoping to get them running quietly so I can appreciate the exhaust note all the more. The running in time is not too important to me. I'm in no rush to open it right up.
Appreciate your help.

I'm interested in hearing about your experiences with your cruizinimage pistons. I've also bought a set and think they look pretty good, but noticed that the small-end bearing mounting width (where the later style GTs have bushing instead of at the big-end) was too big allowing the piston to move a good 1mm from side to side. Wondering if you noticed this as well?

My experience isn't with a GT series Suzukis but I installed cruizinimage pistons in my Yamaha TDR250 and have riden the bike about 3000km. I often rev the bike to 8-10k rpm and the pistons have held up well to this point.

Hey All!
I was just wondering about cruzinimages GT750 pistons,
are the circlips decent in the kits? or should you use stock suzuki? Also as this post is a bit older now, has anybody experienced any problems with their piston kits as time has gone by?

Re: Super cheap GT550 pistons on ebay any experience?
Hi, i went for a set in my old RD400 in the beginning of 2013, and it havn't been saved from the throttle, no problems. Had the barrels bored to 0,0017" a bit of running in and then off we went. I have sold the bike now, but the new owner has only reported positive feedback also. Some Fellow members on the RD forum have had them in longer with no problems. And yes, they are or seems to be a bid more HD in everything as casting, wall thickness etc. Cheers
If it's not broken - don't fix it. Why not?

Re: Super cheap GT550 pistons on ebay any experience?
I asked cruzerimage ( about 3 days ago) if can get oversizes for the GT550. This time he said no.
Too bad
I just asked japbikespares_oz on ebay. He's the other gent is Australia offering GT750
I also put a request in to rep USA for Wossner
I put a request into a sales rep for TKRJ.
Through enough stuff something may stick

Re: Super cheap GT550 pistons on ebay any experience?
I have my cylinders down at the machine shop right now with 0.50mm over cruzinimage pistons ifor mt gt550. I asked the people from cruzinimage what the tolerances were and he said .005 is that right? Thanks oh and they do seem as decent as the stock ones I had em beside, they look exactly like the stock pistons now tho too. The top has the arrow and no side tiny holes. The ones pictured above look like they copied the wisco pistons with the top and side holes and such. 'll find out tho lol
